The trailer of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani dropped recently and it is everything that the fans were hoping for. The movie is everything that Karan Johar is known for, which is dollops of romance, bling, and family drama.
While the grandeur of the trailer has upped the excitement among the audience, a certain section of social media, especially Begalis, is not happy with the funny one-liners from Ranveer Singh’s character Rocky.
In the trailer, when Ranveer Singh’s character, Rocky, comes to Alia Bhatt’s character, Rani’s, house for three-month stay as per the arrangement, he stumbles upon a portrait of Rabindranath Tagore. He shockingly identifies the portrait as Rani’s grandfather. Although this misunderstanding adds to the subtle humour in the storyline it somehow also gives a touch of absurdity to the narrative.
We are quite aware of the emotions attached to the iconic literary figure and for the same reason, many internet users slammed KJo for ‘disrespecting Rabindranath Tagore’.

Meanwhile, the movie will be marking the return of Karan to director’s seat after a span of around five years. The filmmaker had last directed the movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. RRKPK will also star Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in supporting roles.
