Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan recently had a deep and honest conversation with Sex Education actress Gillian Anderson. Organized by The Dirty Magazine, the discussion focused on their views about sexuality, the film industry, and their future projects.
During the talk, Gillian asked Kareena about her stance on intimate scenes. Kareena shared that she doesn’t believe such scenes are necessary to tell a story. She explained, “I might not be comfortable doing that on screen. In our society, we don’t see sexuality as a normal human experience, and we need to respect it more before showing it in films.”
Kareena also pointed out that the Indian film industry is still conservative when it comes to portraying intimacy, unlike the West where female desire is discussed more openly.
The conversation also touched on Kareena’s role in Chameli (2003), where she played a sex worker. She described how the role helped her understand and express her sexuality in a way she hadn’t done before.
Both actresses also spoke about their upcoming projects. Kareena, who was last seen in Singham Again (2024), revealed that her next film might be directed by Meghna Gulzar. She also hinted at a possible role in a major South Indian film. Meanwhile, Gillian is preparing for The Abandons, an American Western action drama set in the 1850s.
