Karim Benzema to join Arsenal on loan deal? Here’s what we know so far!

In a surprising change of events, Benzema is speculated to join Arsenal during the January transfer window. The Gunners are reportedly keen on signing Benzema. According to TEAMtalk, the London club plans a lucrative loan deal for the French striker. According to the report, Arsenal’s rivals Chelsea are also interested in signing the former Real Madrid goal scorer. Arsenal is concerned about Brazilian attacker Gabriel Jesus’ injuries. In Jesus’ absence, English striker Eddie Nketiah has done an admirable job for Arsenal, however, Mikel Arteta’s desire to sign a prolific goal-scoring option is well known.

Mikel Arteta told beIN Sports, “At the moment it does not look realistic (that Arsenal will sign a striker). What my job is, and what we have to do is improve our players and try to get better results with the players we have.”

Mikel Arteta’s statements came after Arsenal were eliminated from the FA Cup in the third round by Liverpool. Arsenal had 18 shots in that match against Liverpool, but they were unable to score on any of them. Arsenal had lost three straight games before their loss against Liverpool. In their last four games, Arsenal has lost all four of them in all competitions.

Regarding Karim Benzema, reports have surfaced claiming that the French international is not enjoying his time at Al Ittihad. According to a Marca report, Benzema did not attend the resumption of the Al Ittihad season.
