Karnataka CM eases lockdown restrictions

BS Yediyurappa, Chief Minister of Karnataka disclosed lockdown relaxation measures in the states. The Chief Minister have eased the lockdown restrictions and lifted the night curfew. According to reports, Government offices are allowed to reopen. The District administration are flexible to implement more restrictions.

Things that are allowed and not allowed in the lockdown relaxation : 

-Theaters/ cinema halls and pubs continue to remain close.

-Swimming pools are allowed on the grounds of competitive training purposes while maintaining appropriate COVID 19 behavior. SOP’s are required to be issued by the concerned departments.

-Sports complexes and stadium will be opened for practice purposes while strictly observing COVID 19 protocols. However the spectators are not entertained.

-All social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious function including other gathering are prohibited.

In the last 24 hours, Karnataka have reported 2,082 fresh COVID 19 cases with 7,751 patients discharged. The state have witnessed 86 deaths in the day. Reportedly, the death toll increased to 35,308.

Commissioner of Bengaluru Police, Kamal Pant voiced, “After second wave, people are behaving more responsibly. Government is easing relaxations to ensure normalcy.” He further assured that they will be strictly enforcing COVID protocols and violations of the protocols will result in action against an individuals or establishments.

Gaurav Gupta, commissioner Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) stated, “Despite relaxations we should ensure COVID appropriate behavior. We have called a joint meeting with the police department.” He further said that there is a need for caution and the police department has agreed to work together.
