The Karnataka government on Saturday allowed all shops and commercial establishments who employ ten or more people to remain for 24×7 on all days for three years with some conditions. The employer shall appoint additional staff to allow every employee to take one day holiday in a week on rotation basis. Any employee should not work for more than 8 hours in a day and more than 48 hours a week. Employees shall be provided with restroom, washroom, safety lockers and other basic amenities. Overtime allowance for employees is mandatory.
