Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson officially change son Tatum’s last name to Thompson

Khloé Kardashian has officially changed her and Tristan Thompson’s baby boy’s name.

Documents obtained by PEOPLE indicate that the couple has officially changed Tatum’s name after finding that the Good American co-founder, 39, first listed her son’s name as Baby Kardashian on his birth certificate since she hadn’t yet chosen a moniker at the time.

On Thursday, a Los Angeles County judge granted the now 13-month-old’s name change, officially naming him Tatum Thompson.

According to California law, new parents have the choice of giving their kid the father’s last name, the mother’s last name, or a mix of the two, with whatever the parent selects being permanent unless a court order dictates otherwise.

In July 2022, Kardashian and Thompson welcomed their son. The couple also share daughter True, 5.

Kardashian revealed last year that she had welcomed her son through surrogacy. Tatum’s name was revealed in season three of The Kardashians in May and she afterwards came up about her troubles bonding with her baby following the surrogacy on the show.

In support of her daughter, Kris Jenner asked Kardashian that she should go easier on herself because she is a doting mother.

“I wish I wasn’t so critical of myself,” Kardashian stated during a confessional, “because I’m very kind to everyone else, I’m just not very kind to myself. But being a mom is truly one of, just the most magical experiences ever.”
