Back in 2019, long before she entered the film industry, Khushi Kapoor appeared on Neha Dhupia’s talk show with her sister Janhvi Kapoor. During the episode, she was asked to choose a co-star for her potential debut. The options included Aryan Khan, Meezaan Jaaferi and Ahaan Panday. Khushi chose Chunky Panday’s nephew Ahaan, explaining, “I have only seen Ahaan act out of the three of them, so I guess it would be like, the safest option.”
Interestingly, years later, Ahaan Panday has made a strong impression with his Bollywood debut Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri and produced by YRF. The romantic musical drama not only introduced Ahaan as a lead actor but also marked the debut of Aneet Padda, whose performance was equally appreciated. The film turned out to be a success, and Ahaan is now being counted among the most promising newcomers in the industry.
Meanwhile, Janhvi had a different pick back in 2019. She said, “I would want her to debut opposite Meezaan.” Khushi eventually made her debut in The Archies (2023), alongside Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Vedang Raina.
The old clip from the talk show is now going viral, with fans reacting strongly. One user wrote, “If Khushi was in Saiyaara it would have flopped,” while another said, “She would have ruined his debut.” Ahaan’s fans are celebrating how far he has come, calling him humble, passionate, and deserving of every bit of success.
