King Charles III diagnosed with cancer, Buckingham Palace says

Buckingham Palace revealed on Monday that Britain’s 75-year-old King Charles III has been diagnosed with a kind of cancer. The king has decided to put off his public-facing duties because of this recent development.

This comes after his three-night hospital stay last month when he underwent a corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate.

During this time, another problem was identified, which led to further testing and the identification of cancer. The type of cancer the King is battling was not disclosed by the palace, but a royal source clarified that it had nothing to do with the prostate.

“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties,” the palace said. “Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”

Just one week has passed since Kate and King Charles were both released from a private London clinic after undergoing medical treatments.

At the age of 74, King Charles took over the throne from his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, after her death last year. King Charles had a non-cancerous growth removed from his face in 2008.
