Filmmaker and producer Kiran Rao recently delighted her followers with a sweet glimpse into her personal life. Taking to Instagram, she shared two adorable pictures with her son, Azad Rao Khan, and playfully noted that her son has officially outgrown her in height.
In the first picture, Azad is seen standing beside Kiran and flattening her hair to prove he is now taller. The second photo, taken a few years ago, shows Azad as a cheerful little boy, shorter than his mother. Kiran captioned the post, “Ok fine, I concede that Azad’s a little bit taller than me now. He didn’t need to flatten my hair to prove it. The second picture is from a few years ago—thanks @hinabi for the memory.”
The post quickly drew attention from several celebrities, including Huma Qureshi, Tisca Chopra, and Sona Mohapatra, who dropped red heart emojis in the comments. Actor Poorna Jagannathan humorously asked, “Overnight, right?” to which Kiran replied, “Yes! I’ve gotta stop looking at baby pictures obsessively.”
Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan, who tied the knot in 2005 and parted ways in 2021 after 15 years of marriage, continue to co-parent Azad, born in 2011. Speaking on Kareena Kapoor’s talk show What Women Want, Kiran earlier mentioned that co-parenting has become smoother with time. She shared that Aamir is now more involved, saying, “Azad is enjoying his time with his dad a lot more. It’s reached a place where it’s really nice.”
