The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) welcomed their new player, Mitchell Starc, with a touch of SRK’s Bollywood touch. Following KKR’s record-breaking bid of Rs 24.75 crore for Starc at the IPL Auction 2024, the team shared a video of Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic scene from the movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001), with Starc’s face morphed on it as they can’t wait for the star bowler to play for the franchise. KKR also posted an AI-generated picture of Starc in an Iron Man outfit on X (previously known as Twitter) to keep the team and supporters excited.

After an eight-year absence, Mitchell Starc, an Australian left-arm fast bowler, is expected to return to the IPL. Starc also made history by becoming the most expensive player in IPL history, with a price of Rs.24.75 crore. The contract also broke Australia skipper Pat Cummins’ record, signed by SRH earlier in the day for Rs 20.5 crore.
Starc last played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2015. In 13 matches that season, he took an astounding 20 wickets at an economy rate of 6.76 and an average of 14.55.
