Kolkata metro announces extended hours for Durga puja 2025, services till 4 AM

The Kolkata Metro will now make traveling to the pandals this Puja easier if you intend to spend the night outside. During the main festival days, metro services will operate nearly around the clock, making it very convenient to travel within the city and its environs.

The Metro Railway has chosen to operate the metro all night and has extended service hours on a number of routes in consideration of the holiday demand. For the first time, on September 29, 30, and October 1, the Green Line (Howrah Maidan to Sector V) and the Blue Line (Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash) would run continuously.

Blue Line (Dakshineswar – Kavi Subhash)

Operation Hours: 1 PM to 4 AM

  • Total Trains Per Day: 246
  • Frequency: Every 6-7 Minutes

Last Trains

  • 3:48 AM – Dakshineswar to Shahid Khudiram
  • 3:47 AM – Shahid Khudiram to Dakshineswar

Schedule for Other Puja Days

  • Panchami (September 27): 8 AM to 11 PM – 262 Trains
  • Shashthi (September 28): 9 AM to 11 PM – 246 Trains
  • Dashami (October 2): 1 PM to 10 PM – 132 Trains (Every 8 Minutes)

Green Line (Howrah Maidan – Sector V)

  • Operation Hours: 1:30 PM to 4:18 AM
  • Total Services Per Day: 192
  • Frequency: Every 8 Minutes

Yellow Line (Noapara – Jai Hind Vimanbandar)

  • Saptami to Navami: Last train timing extended to 10:50 PM
  • Dashami: Last train at 9:20 PM

Purple Line (Joka – Majerhat)

  • Panchami to Dashami: 38 trains per day Services
  • Operation Hours: 3 PM to 10:55 PM
  • Frequency: Every 25 minutes

The Metro management has asked users to access via mobile QR tickets and smart cards, tourist smart cards, or the “Aamar Kolkata Metro” app in order to avoid crowds. Pandal visitors would find the Kolkata Metro’s Durga Puja effort to be a huge benefit.
