Konkona Sensharma, known for her powerful screen presence and thoughtful filmmaking, is stepping into a new creative phase. After earning praise for her directorial work in Death In The Gunj and her segment in Lust Stories 2, the actor-director has now confirmed her next project, a comedy web series. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Konkona shared that she is co-writing and co-directing the show with her college friend Jaydeep Sarkar.
Konkona described the project as something fresh and exciting, yet slightly nerve-racking. She explained that the intention behind the series is simple, to have fun. Despite many actor-directors choosing to feature in their own work, Konkona clarified that she has no plans to act in this upcoming series. She said that with so many talented actors available, she prefers not to complicate the process for herself, adding that she doesn’t have the courage to write and direct something for herself to star in.
The year 2025 has been significant for Konkona. She marked 20 years since her Hindi debut in Page 3 and reunited with director Anurag Basu for Metro… In Dino, the sequel to the 2007 film Life In A Metro. She is the only cast member from the original film to return for the sequel and this time stars opposite Pankaj Tripathi. In the earlier film, she shared the screen with the late Irrfan Khan, with whom she created many memorable moments.
