Koo doubles down on users after Twitter clashes with Indian Government

After micro-blogging site Twitter clashed with Indian government when it was asked to suspend the accounts of people involved in farmers agitation due to the violence of 26 Jan and on the account of increase in fake news being spread by certain miscreants on its platform but Twitter denied to do claiming it to be a direct clash with its policies and the law of the land (India) – Expression of free speech.

This marked the smooth cash in by Indian based Koo app which is similar to Twitter. The app swooshed in at the right time and ever since then it has gained 901,000 active number of users who saw Indian government demands fit. Even popular Bollywood actress – Kangana Ranaut favored Koo.

Koo lets its users post in 7 different Indian languages and not just in English. The app claims that it is not only for the top 1% and is made for 100% Indians and people may not be able to connect with Elon Musk on it but they can connect with Indians who speak & write in different languages of India.

The sudden rise of the app has also factored in the privacy features and policies of the app as it was found that the claim of being a “Atmanirbhar” app has Chinese investors “Shunwei Capital” and it could be sharing its users private data with the investing firm. But as of now the app has increased its user base and is looking forward to become one of its kind in Indian market.
