Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate in seventh weekend in India, made almost Rs. 11 crore. At just 32%, the decline from the sixth weekend was once again outstanding. Laalo has already made a total of Rs. 88.25 crore at the Indian box office. Just behind Kantara, which made Rs. 15 crore during the same period, the seventh weekend figures are the second-highest ever in India.
Interestingly, Laalo has been getting closer to Kantara over the past few weeks; the distance is currently only 28%. With a Hindi dubbed version scheduled for release, the movie might set an all-time record next week. Laalo is only Rs. 12 crore away from reaching the enormous Rs. 100 crore milestone.
It looked like it would be hard to get here, or barely get there, but it will easily surpass the triple-digit mark and then some more. Desh Re Joya Dada Pardesh Joya, which made nearly Rs. 15 crore in 1998, is the largest Gujarati movie ever. Today, that amounts to more than Rs. 150 crore. Up till now, no Gujarati movie has even come close to that one, and Laalo is now a part of it.
