After the success of Laapataa Ladies, all eyes have been on its leading ladies, Pratibha Ranta and Nitanshi Goel, as fans eagerly awaited news of their next projects. Now, fresh reports suggest that both actors are ready to step into major Bollywood ventures.
According to recent updates, Pratibha Ranta has reportedly been signed on for Dostana 2, a spiritual sequel to the 2008 rom-com starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Abhishek Bachchan, and John Abraham. Initially announced with Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Lakshya, the project underwent several changes after Kartik’s exit. The film’s script has been reworked, and it will now feature Pratibha opposite Vikrant Massey and The Ba***ds of Bollywood star Lakshya.
Meanwhile, Pratibha’s Laapataa Ladies co-star Nitanshi Goel is said to have bagged the lead role in Govinda’s son Yashvardan Ahuja’s debut film. The project could also mark filmmaker Sajid Khan’s return to direction after nearly seven years. Reports claim that the studio has approached Sajid to helm the comedy, with Nitanshi and South actress Krithi Shetty as part of the main cast.
A source revealed that although Sajid has yet to officially confirm his involvement, producers believe the film’s humorous tone aligns with his signature style. If finalized, this film will be Yashvardan’s first step into Bollywood, expected to begin before his other project with Phantom Studios.
