Lana Del Rey, the Grammy-nominated artist, became extremely popular on the internet two months ago. People were confused as to why she was dressed in the outfits of a Waffle House in an Alabama town. Lana recently addressed the story behind those images in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on September 20.
Lana, along with her two siblings, apparently spent many hours at that Waffle House. When the staff noticed them, they asked if they wanted Waffle House t-shirts. Lana and her siblings were overjoyed and agreed. They were having a fantastic time. Lana said to The Hollywood Reporter, “We were on our third hour, and the servers asked, ‘Do you guys want shirts?’ ” She said, “Hell yeah! We were thrilled.”
The resulting video was quite short, lasting less than 10 seconds. However, reports began to circulate after the restaurant’s manager posted the clip on Facebook and a few fans took pictures with Lana Del Rey donning the restaurant’s uniform on other social media sites.
Lana also shared an enjoyable moment during her visit, according to Hollywood Report. She recalled, “This guy, a regular, comes in every day and orders two things, so they were like, ‘Just go get it for him!’ I brought him a Coke. No ice. And an empty cup.” Lana, despite being a well-known singer all over the world, was surprised when the Waffle House images went viral. She said, “I wish my album had gone viral. I woke up to, like, 10,000 texts the next morning — some from folks I had not heard from for 10 years. ‘Saw your picture at the Waffle House!’ (Laughing.) I was like, ‘Did you hear the new album?’”
