Is there a release date for Season 8 of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow?

There is no release date for Season 8 of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. This is because there won’t be an eighth season because The CW cancelled the programme after seven seasons.

The CW was in the process of selling itself and the bulk of its shares to Nexstar Media, who later acquired the corporation, when DC’s Legends of Tomorrow was cancelled. Legends of Tomorrow and other shows like Roswell, New Mexico were cancelled because Nexstar Media wanted to target a different audience than The CW had been targeting for a while.

The CW appeared to have had plans for an eighth season, which they appeared to have intended to be the final one, therefore it appears as though the show was unexpectedly cancelled.

This was made clear by the fact that, rather than guaranteeing the resolution of the plot, the last episodes of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 7 set up story lines that would be addressed by the end of the show’s scheduled eighth and final season.
