Lily Allen opens up about mental health struggles

Lily Allen has announced a break from her Miss Me? podcast, citing mental health struggles, and took the opportunity to address rumors about a potential drug relapse. In the latest episode, released on January 9, the 39-year-old singer discussed her ongoing mental health challenges, including panic attacks that have made it difficult for her to concentrate on anything other than the pain she’s experiencing. She also opened up about her past issues with ADHD, PTSD, and eating disorders, which she’s been working through.

Allen clarified that the decision to pause her podcast was not influenced by recent rumors. She strongly denied reports that she had relapsed into drug use, affirming that she has been sober since 2019. She reassured her listeners, saying, “I’ve not relapsed,” and emphasized that some of the rumors circulating about her personal life, including false claims about her marriage to actor David Harbour, were completely fabricated.

Addressing one particularly hurtful rumor, she said, “I know there have been some horrible blind items on the internet about me being found by my husband in a crack den being surrounded by men… that’s not true.” She also spoke about the importance of open communication in her family, particularly with her daughters, Ethel and Marnie, and the support they provide for each other.

Allen’s openness about her mental health struggles and the false rumors serves as a reminder of the challenges many people face, despite public perceptions.
