Inter Miami advanced to the League Cup semi-finals with a 4-0 victory against Charlotte FC on Friday, thanks to Lionel Messi’s eighth goal in 5 matches.
In the 86th minute, the Argentine scored Miami’s 4th goal in what was a very easy win for Gerardo Martino’s club.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner had one of his quieter games in the pink jersey of Miami, however, he still found the net for his legions of fans.
Josef Martinez’s penalty gave Miami the lead in the 12th minute and in the 32nd minute, the in-form Robert Taylor doubled their lead by converting a low cross from DeAndre Yedlin.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner who led Argentina to the World Cup victory last year has yet to lose a match with Miami, winning all five games in the Leagues Cup, a 47-team event composed of clubs from MLS and Mexico’s top league that has now been down to the last four.
Miami will take on the winner of Friday’s quarter-final match between the Philadelphia Union and Mexican club Queretaro.
