On Friday, a sold-out DRV PNK Stadium witnessed a fantastic night. It was a star-studded affair in Florida, with the attendance of some of the biggest names in sports history, including 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams and NBA all-time top scorer LeBron James. Kim Kardashian, an American media figure, was also there with her children. But the moment of pure magic involved none. Thousands of people rushed to the stadium in the late hours of Florida to watch legendary Lionel Messi.
The Argentina star not only made his long-awaited debut for Inter Miami in the Leagues Cup against Mexican side Cruz Azul, but he also scored an important last-minute victory with a free kick.
Taking a free kick from around 25 yards out in the last minutes of the game, Messi sent the ball sailing with his left foot over a wall of four Cruz Azul players and into the top left corner of the net to create one of Inter Miami’s greatest moments ever.

On Sunday, he was introduced to thousands of fans and Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham revealed that an online video of the event had been viewed 3.5 billion times.
