Lisa Kudrow recently discovered a note from Matthew Perry

Lisa Kudrow recently shared a touching revelation about a hidden message from the late Matthew Perry inside a Friends prop he gifted her.

During her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on January 7, Kudrow recalled that Perry gave her the famous cookie time jar as a wrap present on the final day of filming. However, she only recently discovered that he had left a note inside.

“Matthew gave that to me at the end of our last episode,” Kudrow said, before revealing that she found the note for the first time and reflecting on its significance. While she didn’t disclose what Perry had written, she simply stated, “Timing is everything.”

The Friends co-star’s bond was well-known, and Perry’s gift was a reference to a moment from an early episode of the show when Kudrow mistook the jar for a clock during a scene.

Perry, who tragically passed away at 54 in October 2023, had previously acknowledged the gift in a 2021 interview, where the Friends cast reminisced about keepsakes they had taken from the set. Kudrow mentioned she also took Phoebe’s rings and security badges, while Jennifer Aniston kept one of Monica’s dresses. Matt LeBlanc took an I Love Friends license plate frame—which he humorously placed on David Schwimmer’s car—while Schwimmer held onto a Professor Geller placard from Ross’s museum office.

Kudrow, known for her deep admiration for Perry, has continued to honor his memory, previously sharing heartfelt tributes following his passing.
