Liverpool won the League Cup two years ago, defeating Chelsea on penalties after a goalless draw in the final. It completed a trophy double over the Londoners that season, winning on penalties in the FA Cup final after another 0-0 draw.
However, after the team lost the Premier League title on the last day of the season and was defeated by Real Madrid in the Champions League final, Klopp’s dreams of completing a quadruple in 2022 came to an end.
His team is now back in trophy contention after finishing the last season empty-handed and losing out on qualification for the Champions League.
