Counterfeit cosmetic products allegedly imitating the JOY brand were seized from multiple locations in Delhi following court-directed raids carried out by Local Commissioners appointed by the Delhi High Court.
The raids, conducted at two premises in Sadar Bazar and one in Dilshad Garden, stemmed from an ex-parte order in a trademark and copyright infringement suit filed by Joy Creators LLP. During the action, large quantities of cosmetic products, packaging materials, labels and promotional items bearing deceptively similar branding to JOY were recovered.
Local Commissioners recorded the seizures through inventories and photographic documentation. The goods were seized and sealed despite resistance at certain premises. The case will now move forward for further proceedings before the Delhi High Court.
Reacting to the action, Sunil Agarwal, Co-founder & Chairman, Joy Personal Care (RSH Global), said,
“Counterfeit products violate intellectual property rights and pose serious risks to consumer safety and trust. At JOY, honesty, trust, and consumer well-being are non-negotiable, and we take the responsibility seriously that Indian households have placed in us over decades. Strict enforcement and timely legal action are essential to protect consumers and preserve brand integrity. We appreciate the decisive action taken pursuant to the Hon’ble Delhi High Court’s directions, and we will continue to support the authorities wherever required to prevent such incidents.
