Major construction conglomerate, Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on Friday said it has procured an up to Rs 2,500-crore contract for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Railway corridor. The contract was awarded through its consortium company IHI Infrastructure Systems (IIS), Japan.
In a regulatory filing, L&T said, “The heavy civil infrastructure business of L&T Construction has secured a significant contract from two packages of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor.”
The organization didn’t offer some incentive of the agreements yet said the requests fall under “huge” class which range between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore according to its grouping of agreements.
The contract is to procure, fabricate, assemble, paint and transport 28 bridges, the company added.
