Luxury carmakers plan 70 launches for 2021, presume V-shaped economic recovery

Luxury carmakers are expecting a 25-40 percent growth in sales this year and have lined up about 70 car launches. More than one new car model with face-lifts and variants is expected to be released every week on an average. This is almost double than last year when carmakers couldn’t launch many cars because of the COVID-19 lockdown and challenges with the supply chains.

BMW leads with 25 launches this year, and is followed by Mercedes Benz and Jaguar Land Rover with 15 and 10 launches respectively. Audi meanwhile plans to roll out seven new models and Volvo plans to launch five new models.

Luxury electric vehicles such as Jaguar I-Pace, Mini Cooper electric car, Audi E-Tron, Porsche Taycan, Tesla Model X, and Volvo XC40 Recharge is also expected to hit the roads this year.
