American actress Mädchen Amick, who known for her role as Shelly Johnson in the cult classic television series Twin Peaks, is all set to make her feature film directorial debut through a movie which has been titled Reminisce. The movie is based on true events and will be written by Shay and Cary Haze. The premise of the movie tells the story of a young woman who is traversing her trauma, heartbreak, and mental illness, all the while pushing the boundaries of reality in order to overcome and find herself in the process.
According to reports, Oscar-nominated American actor Bruce Dern and actor and writer Elissa Shay have been cast in the lead roles in the indie drama. As of now, there have been no additional details regarding the casting for the movie, which is being handled by casting director Gayle Pillsbury, who has previously worked on casting in popular series likes Pretty Little Liars, Sneaky Pete, who will also be serving as the film’s co-producer.
The movie will be beginning principal photography in Los Angeles in July and is being produced by producers Iris Torres and Penny Edmiston. Writer Shay will executive produce the movie through her production house called FutureRetro Productions, along with well-known indie movie producer Milan Chakraborty.
Amick has previously starred in The CW’s hit series Riverdale as Alice Cooper, mother of Betty Cooper who is played by Lili Reinhart, and also in the Twin Peaks franchise, where she plays the lead role of Shelly Johnson. Bruce Dern starred in Alexander Payne‘s Nebraska and Coming Home by Hal Ashby. The two-time Oscar nominee Dern had also appeared in the feature film Remember Me, and also replaced Burt Reynolds in the hit movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Elissa Shay, who was previously known for her roles in Levin Holiman’s feature film God Send and The Nice Guy, will be playing the role of Hayley in the movie Reminisce.
