The much-anticipated Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is expanding with its latest film, Thama. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the movie stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal.
The first looks of the lead characters were officially unveiled on Monday evening, sparking buzz across social media.
Ayushmann Khurrana steps into the role of Alok, described as “Insaaniyat ki aakhri umeed” or the last hope for humanity. In his poster, he is seen donning a dark jacket, exuding an intense presence.
Rashmika Mandanna, on the other hand, makes her entry as Tadaka, hailed as the “Roshni ki ek hi pehli kiran” or the first ray of light. Dressed in a vintage outfit, her character poster adds intrigue to the supernatural theme of the film.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s transformation caught the maximum attention as he appeared with long hair and sharp features, almost bat-like, strengthening the speculation that the film will explore vampire folklore. His character, Yakshasan, has been introduced as the “Andhere ka badshah” or the king of darkness, setting the stage for a gripping narrative.
Fans wasted no time in analyzing the posters, pointing out hidden details. Some speculated on links to Stree, the first film of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, after spotting an idol in Ayushmann’s poster. Others noticed shadowy figures in Rashmika’s look, guessing Nawazuddin’s character might be lurking behind her.
With its star-studded cast and thrilling character reveals, Thama has already begun building anticipation ahead of its
