Madhu Shah turns emotional while attending late husband Satish Shah’s prayer meet in Mumbai

On October 25, 2025, veteran actor Satish Shah passed away at the age of 74 from issues relating to his kidneys. It was disclosed that earlier this year, Satish had a kidney transplant because he “wanted to extend his life so that he could take care of Madhu,” his wife, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s.

On Monday evening, October 27, a prayer meeting was held in Mumbai in honor of Satish Shah. Madhu was spotted arriving at the prayer meet with a number of other women who appeared to be her relatives and friends. Deven Bhojani, who costarred with Satish in Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai, was also spotted making his way to the prayer meet. Madhu was distraught and was observed becoming tearful as she walked in.

At the Sipta Film Festival, Satish Shah first met Madhu Shah and fell in love with her right away. But according to reports, Madhu rejected his first offer. During the filming of Saath Saath (1982), Satish made another attempt at success but was turned down. But in the end, his perseverance paid off. Madhu wanted him to meet her parents as part of his third proposal.

He won them over, and eight months later, in 1972, the two were engaged and married. Since then, the pair has remained together while deciding to keep their private lives private. On Saturday, Satish Shah passed away in Mumbai due to renal failure. He was seventy-four.

According to his manager, the actor passed out after lunch at his home in Mumbai. Despite being taken to Hinduja Hospital, he was not able to be revived. His family and film industry colleagues came together to say their final goodbyes at his funeral on Sunday in Mumbai.
