Maharashtra Government allows colleges to reopen from February 15
Colleges in Maharashtra are allowed to reopen from February 15 while following the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures, State Higher and Technical Education Minister, Uday Samant, said today.
Colleges will be allowed to open only with 50% of the total capacity on a rotational basis. The rule of 75% attendance will be waived off for college students this year. Colleges will have to continue online classes for 50% of the students to ensure social distancing.
The final exams for students can be taken in online and offline modes, the decision for which will be taken by universities on their own. All college hostels may not open as many of them have been converted into quarantine centers, informed the Samant.
A set of Standard Operating Procedures will be issued by the Maharashtra state government for the reopening of colleges and universities across the state.
