Maharashtra government announces guidelines owing to the rise in COVID-19 cases

New guidelines by Maharashtra government due to rise in Covid cases.

To combat the outbreak of the coronavirus, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray declared on Tuesday that the state government will implement Section 144 from 14th April 2021 at 8 pm. The state government has released a list of approved practices in Mumbai Metropolitan Region municipal corporations. These guidelines will be followed till July 31.

Here’s everything  about the state government’s latest restrictions:

Restricted services in the State

The government has taken an important decision. Though coronavirus-induced restrictions are in effect, the Maharashtra government will provide three kilograms of wheat and two kilograms of rice to any poor and needy individual for free for the next month. Nobody is permitted to drive in public spaces unless they have a compelling excuse. Cinemas, theatres, auditoriums, theme parks, gyms, and athletic centres will be shut down.  Vital utilities will be excluded from the restrictions and will be able to travel freely. Houses of worship, educational institutions, private coaching courses, barbershops, spas, salons, and beauty parlours will be closed. Both restaurants and bars will be closed for business. Shooting for movies, serials, and commercials to be aired.

Non-essential shops may be permitted to open in accordance with the policy of each local corporation. Non-essential markets and business areas may continue to operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If allowed, liquor stores may continue to exist, whether for delivery service or otherwise. E-commerce will be available only for essential goods and services.

     Offices that will remain open

All the central, state and local government office will function as usual. Offices of companies providing essential services, Insurance Mediclaim Companies, pharmaceutical company offices and all non-banking corporation will be functioning.

All these offices except the government office that except for government offices that are dealing with the coping with the Covid 19 should bear only 50 per cent of their normal population.

Penality for Rule Breakers

  • People using public vehicle should wear a mask. If failed to do so will be fined ₹500.
  • For any passenger who is travelling in a taxi should compulsorily wear a mask or else both the guilty and the driver will be fined ₹500 each.
  • Anyone caught breaking the Covid protocol on any train would be fined ₹500.
  • According to the Centre’s instruction, all the public transport drivers and employees should get vaccinated as soon as possible
