Following its July 25 theatrical debut, the Indian animated epic Mahavatar Narsimha is still breaking box office records. According to the filmmakers, the animated mythological epic directed by Ashwin Kumar has now made an incredible ₹210 crore globally.
The movie recently became the highest-grossing animated film in India, surpassing both Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Hanuman. On Monday, the film’s makers, Hombale Films, shared the latest update on Mahavatar Narsimha on X.
Mahavatar Narsimha, meanwhile, is also having a successful run at the Indian box office. With a huge ₹23 crore collection on the third Sunday, the movie is still going strong in its third week.
According to Sacnilk, the movie’s total earnings after 18 days are currently ₹ 171.92 crore. Ashwin Kumar is the director of Mahavatar Narsimha, which is produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai under the Kleem Productions label, which is distributed by Hombale Films. In Hindi and South Indian, it was shown in theatres in both 2D and 3D.
The groundwork for a mythical franchise unlike anything seen in Indian animation is already being laid by upcoming films like Mahavatar Parshuram and Mahavatar Kalki.
