Man attacks female judge in Nevada courtroom after being denied probation; Watch

On Wednesday, January 3, a horrifying video shows a man jumping over the bench and assaulting a female judge for denying him probation at his sentencing. The incident occurred in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas as Judge Mary Kay Holthus was sentencing Deobra Redden, 30. According to KLAS, Redden was punished after being convicted of attempted violence with substantial bodily harm.

According to reports, Redden’s attorney asked Holthus to sentence his client to probation. However, Holthus said, “I think it’s time he got a taste of something else because I just can’t with that history.”

Then Redden can be seen coming toward the bench, jumping over it and attacking the judge. A couple of court officials can be seen trying to take Redden away from the judge while he yelled profanities.

“What the hell’s wrong with you man?” someone can be heard yelling “Where’s Mary Kay – is she okay?” a man asks after Redden is put in handcuffs.

In the incident, the judge had a minor head injury, and a marshal was also injured.

After the attack on the judge, Redden is now facing new charges of violence and battery on a protected person.
