Man with weapons and police sticker on car arrested near WB CM Mamata Bannerjee residence

A security alert was issued near the residence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee on Friday, July 21, after a person with weapons and police stickers on a car tried to breach the security of the CM, as per the news reports. The person was arrested by police.

The person has been identified as Sheikh Noor Alam, who possessed one firearm, one knife, and contraband substance and several ID cards of different agencies.

Vineet Goyal, commissioner, Kolkata Police stated, “Kolkata Police has intercepted one person, identified as Sheikh Noor Alam, near CM Mamata Bannerjee’s residence… He was traveling in a car with Police sticker on it. Police, STF & Special Branch are examining and questioning him at Local Police Station,” as quoted by news agency ANI.
