Manchester City owner, Sheikh Mansour to pay for 6,000 fans travelling to Portugal for Champions League finals

Sheikh Mansour, the Manchester City owner has recently announced that he will be paying for the 6,000 fans that will be travelling to Portugal for the UEFA Champions League finals against their English rivals, Chelsea on 29th May.

The club has promised that they are trying to reduce the financial burden on the fans as everyone has undergone a tough time and has struggled financially due to this COVID-19 pandemic. Mansour will cover the travel costs of all 6,000 people that will be attending the mega event. Fans have struggled to manage their trip due to the inflated prices of tickets and Covid-19 tests but this gesture from City will definitely help them in funding the trip.

‘Thousands of City supporters will benefit from the initiative which is designed to ease the financial pressure on fans who have faced and are still facing challenging circumstances due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic”, the club said in the official statement.

This gesture will help the City fans as this might be the time that City create history and win the UEFA Champions League first time in their history. Both the teams are allowed to bring 6000 fans for the UEFA finals.
