Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola has been named the 2020/21 Manager of the season after he led Manchester City to a third Premier League title in four seasons. Guardiola has won this award three times in his managerial career, he claimed these awards in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons as well.
Alex Ferguson has won the highest number of Manager of the Season awards, 11 in his career, Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger, and Pep Guardiola are in the second position with three times in their career.
Pep Guardiola masterminded a 15- match winning streak that saw them winning 27 games out of the available 38 to take the Premier League trophy from Liverpool, this is the first time any club has won the league while being in the eighth position on Christmas Day and still winning the trophy with such a great margin. City managed to get 86 points, 12 points ahead of their city rivals, Manchester United.
The Spaniard beat fellow nominees Marcelo Bielsa, David Moyes, Brendan Rodgers, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to this awards after votes from the public were combined with those of the panel of football experts to decide the winner. His team’s player, Ruben Dias was named the player of the year after his exceptional games throughout the season in the defensive line.
