Manchester United issue fresh statement on Marcus Rashford following nightclub incident

Manchester United stated Marcus Rashford has “taken responsibility for his actions” after being spotted in a Belfast nightclub last week and then reporting himself unwell.

Rashford had to be ruled out of his team’s 4-2 FA Cup triumph against Newport on Sunday, with United stating he was too sick to play.

Manager Erik ten Hag then said that he would deal with the forward after learning of his reported activities during the week before the game.

“Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions. This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed,” United stated on Monday. It didn’t disclose if he’d been fined.

On Thursday, when United faces Wolves in the English Premier League, Rashford will be available for selection.

Ten Hag stated earlier in the season that Rashford’s participation in birthday celebrations following United’s defeat to Manchester City was unacceptable. “I am aware of it and I spoke with him about it,” Ten Hag stated in November. “It is unacceptable. I told him. He apologized and that is it.”
