Manchester United to be bought by Qatari Sheikh? Here’s what we know

Is Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim bin Hamid Al Thani the sole owner of the English football team Manchester United? Despite allegations and counterclaims, this question remains unsolved. The Sheikh Jassim camp was reported on Monday night to have succeeded in buying the stakes from the Glazer family, who currently control the legendary club. It was alleged that he defeated Sir Jim Ratcliffe with the blessings of the Qatari banker.

According to reports, Jassim was even applauded by Qatari business houses. As a result, Manchester United’s share price increased by 11.4 per cent to USD 22.37 on Monday.

Media house Al Watan’s Fahed Al Emadi tweeted that the deal would be announced shortly. However, in his most recent tweet, he distanced himself from his previous tweet and stated that what he said was based on foreign media reporting.

The Glazer family have previously stated that they were looking for alternatives to Manchester. However, neither Avner nor Joel Glazer has accepted or denied the deal.

Meanwhile, Manchester United is focused on the upcoming transfer window and anticipates a better deal and more cash flow following the probable takeover. Manager Eric Ten Hag has stated that whoever handles the club should continue with the progression of the iconic team.
