Manipal hospitals acquired Vikram hospital in Bangalore

Being the second-largest hospital chain in the country by bed count, Manipal hospital has just taken over a Multispecialty hospital-based out of Bangalore which was known as Vikram Hospital. The hospital is a 200-bed high-end tertiary care facility that is located in one of the most bustling areas of the city on Millers Rod and is reputed for its clinical proficiency in the field of Cardiac and Neuro Sciences.

The two hospitals came to an agreement on the 3rd of June with Multiples Private Equity Fund for 100% of the hospital. Even though there has been no concrete news on how much the buyout was but it is estimated to be ₹350 crores.

The latest acquired hospital will now be the 10th Manipal Hospital in Bangalore. All over India, Manipal Hospitals now have 27 hospitals spanning across 14 cities with more than 7,300 beds and over 10,000 employees.

Manipal Hospitals’ next plan is to spread its wings across eastern India soon. Dr. Ranjan Pai, the chairman of Manipal Education and Medical Group has mentioned that there are 2 more greenfield hospitals that are under construction and that they are looking forward to being able to finish construction in the next 2 years. With that addition, Manipal will then have 12 hospitals spread across the city with over 2300 beds
