They say ‘Dreams don’t work, unless you do’, and here’s a story that will definitely make you start working hard towards your goals!

Meet Manya Singh, a rickshaw driver’s daughter who was crowned VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 – runner-up at the recent beauty pageant in Mumbai.
In an Instagram post that the organisation Femina Miss India shared, Manya Singh hailing from Uttar Pradesh opened up about her struggles growing up and even about days when she’s gone without food or sleep.

She wrote, “I’ve spent many afternoons walking for miles on end. Being a rickshaw driver’s daughter, I never had the opportunity to attend school as I had to start working in my teens. Eventually, my parents mortgaged whatever little jewellery my mother had to ensure that I paid my exam fees in order to earn a degree.” She strongly believes that education is the strongest weapon one can have with themselves as at 14, she ran away from home, studied during the day, washed dishes in the evening and worked at the call centre at night. She also went through tough time where she was called “not good-looking” and was disregarded for not being able to speak fluently. But all these things pushed her to work harder and got her where she is today. Her journey is an inspiration to many to follow your dreams and work hard to write your own destiny.
