Seven people have been found accused of premeditated murder charges under the investigation over the death of Argentine footballing legend Diego Maradona. The accused are his neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov and psychologist Carlos Diaz will he facing around 8-25 years in prison if they are found guilty.
The football legend died from a heart attack last year, the report concluded that the icon didn’t receive adequate medical care and was left to his fate for a grievous and agonizing period before his death. He had also undergone brain surgery on a blood clot a few days before this fatal attack.
The accused have been prohibited from leaving the country and must appear before the court between May 31 and June 14. The complaint was filed by Maradona’s two daughters against Luque who they blamed for his deteriorating condition after his surgery.
Maradona is an idol for millions of people around the globe and he has helped Argentina to their only World Cup in their history, he has a God-like status in the South American nation.
