Marc Llistosella named the new CEO & Managing Director of Tata Motors

Marc Llistosella is all set to join as the new CEO and Managing Director of Tata Motors from July 01, 2021 after the former Airbus executive, Guenter Butschek completes his 5 year term with the company ending in February last. Butschek has been working from Austria since the global pandemic hit worldwide and has decided to move to Germany for unknown personal reasons.

Marc Llistosella is trained in kickboxing and karate and has been known to take inspiration from the two martial art form. He was the brains behind the Daimler’s 7th global auto brand known as BharatBenz and has been competing with Tata Motors for 6 years when he was the Head of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles and now he is all set to step in as the new CEO & Managing Director of Tata Motors from July 01.

Llistosella has completed his degree in economics, marketing and sales from the University of Cologne, Germany and is known as an automotive expert in Auto industry where he has held many senior level positions in his career.

Llistosella was the Head of Daimler Trucks Asia  and is currently on the Board of Einride -a Swedish transport company which specialize in self driving and electric vehicles. He was also previously the President & CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp from 2015 -18.

Marc Llistosella main focus after stepping in his new role will be to disallow any slippage in the CV market share as Tata CV sales during April 2020- Jan 2021 has fallen down 38% to 189,195 units. Tata Motors has always known, considered and shown that their CV division is more profitable then their PV division. It recorded an increase of 21% while PV recorded profit increase by 3.8% in EBITDA in December 2020 quarter.
