On its fourth Monday, Mardaani 3 added Rs. 25 lakh to the tally, which was equal to the fourth Friday. The dip from Sunday is approximately 40%, indicating that the film is holding up well. The cume for the fourth week presently stands at Rs. 1.60 crore in four days, with a projected windfall of roughly 2.50 crore.
The cop action drama, produced by Yash Raj Films, has grossed Rs. 47 crore in 29 days in theatres. Mardaani 3 is nearing the end of its theatrical run and is expected to earn over Rs. 50 crore nett. This is a significant amount for a female-led picture in the post-COVID era. Mardaani 3 is now the franchise’s highest grossing film, surpassing Mardaani 2’s lifetime profits of Rs. 46.30 crore.
The Rani Mukerji starrer also became the only successful female-led franchise in Hindi film. One of the issues with films recently has been a significant increase in prices. A film that used to cost x a few years ago now costs twice as much, if not three times more.
Mardaani 3 performed well in this regard because the picture was made on a tight budget. While it was double the cost of Mardaani 2, the picture had strong non-theatrical recoveries, thus overall recovery was not an issue.
