A heartwarming love story is set to be featured on the January 8 episode of Pop Culture Jeopardy!, where married couple Greer Mackebee and Sarah Bauer share how their shared passion for trivia blossomed into a lifelong romance. Their journey began back in 2012 when they both auditioned for the Jeopardy! National College Championship. Sarah, a law student at Indiana University, made it to the quarterfinals and won $5,000, while Greer, studying law at Stanford University, competed as well.
The chemistry between the two was immediate, and as they spent more time together, their connection deepened. After college, Greer moved to Washington, D.C., for a job, and Sarah soon followed suit. Trivia became a central part of their relationship, with countless date nights spent attending bar trivia events.
Now, over a decade since their first appearance on Jeopardy!, Sarah and Greer are returning to the stage as co-participants on Pop Culture Jeopardy!. Sarah shared her excitement about the opportunity, saying, “It was not in the realm of possibility that we could go on and play again. It’s like lightning struck twice to be able to go on again.”
Joining them for this special episode is their close friend, Brad Lufkin, who expressed his thrill at being part of the game, saying it was a “side quest” he’d always wanted to complete.
Tune in to the Pop Culture Jeopardy! episode on January 8, 2025, to hear more about Sarah and Greer’s unique love story and their trivia journey together!
