The ‘pran pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya was held amid grand celebrations, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the main rituals, which were carried out by a select complement of priests.
A massive crowd of devotees, including locals and visitors from other states, gathered late on Monday around the main doorway along the Ram Path leading to the temple complex, seeking to get entry to the mandir premises.
As a huge crowd grew up around the ceremonial gateway – dressed out for the consecration event – police assured the devotees that the temple would open to the public starting Tuesday.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra website has set out specific time windows for devotees to visit Lord Ram Lalla: morning from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and afternoon from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
