The most recent entry in the well-liked adult comedy series, Mastiii 4, did not receive the much-needed traction during its first weekend of release. With Rs. 2.50 crore coming in on Sunday, the film starring Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh, and Aftab Shivadasani may only make Rs. 7 crore during its three-day theatrical run.
Given that the opening was extremely low, the film’s subdued rise on Sunday worries the producers. As a franchise movie, Mastiii 4 needs to do well on its first weekend in order to finish respectably. But since that doesn’t occur, Mastiii 4’s doom is now all but certain.
Adult comedy have no chance of expanding through word-of-mouth because of the unfavorable feedback. Mastiii 4, which was directed by Milan Milap Zaveri, was off against Vijay Varma’s Gustaakh Ishq and Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur. On the first day, the adult comedy was comparable to 120 Bahadur, but on the second day, it collapsed and showed no indications of improvement. By the conclusion of the weekend, 120 Bahadur had taken the lead.
The early 2010s saw a surge in the genre’s popularity, and the Grand Masti franchise peaked in 2013. But when inexpensive mobile internet became available in the middle of the 2010s, the genre witnessed a significant decline because its target consumers could now easily get the same content. The Mastiii franchise’s third movie itself had a terrible conclusion. Now, the fourth installment’s dismal box office performance could be the last straw.
