McDonald’s to sell part of its AI startup Dynamic Yield

McDonald’s is weighing its options to sell its artificial intelligence-based startup Dynamic Yield Ltd.

Dynamic Yield provides personalized promotions to customers using customer data. The venture helps restaurants in its automatic e-menu and displays food items based on weather, time of day, and regional preferences.

The company works with 300 other brands globally, so McDonald’s is now planning to cut the AI startup ties with other restaurants while continuing with itself.

“The potential sale of the non-McDonald’s part of our business has been discussed from the outset and now feels like the right time to explore that possibility.” We look forward to our continued relationship while continuing to expand the use of Dynamic Yield’s technology at McDonald’s restaurants around the world,” McDonald’s said in a statement.
