McDonald’s UK staff reveal suffering sexual harassment at workplace

More than 100 current and recent employees of McDonald’s UK has alleged a toxic culture of sexual assault, harassment, racism, and bullying at the work place, as per a report by a news outlet.

A report by BBC was informed that workers, some as young as 17, are being groped and harassed almost routinely.

Reacting to the BBC report, the UK hotline expressed “concern” over it and shared that it will be launching a new email hotline.

McDonald’s while apologising for same, said that it had “fallen short.” It added that the employees deserve to be working in an inclusive, safe, and respectful environment.

The BBC began investigating working conditions at McDonald’s in February, after the company signed a legally binding agreement with the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), wherein the fast-food giant pledged to protects its staff from sexual harassment.
