Memoir Of Princess Diana’s Dance Teacher To Be Adapted As Feature Documentary?

Anne Allan’s memoir Dancing with Diana: A Memoir is being adapted into a 90-minute feature documentary, shedding new light on her unique relationship with Princess Diana. Allan, a London City Ballet mistress, was Diana’s dance teacher and co-choreographed the famous ‘Uptown Girl’ routine performed at the Royal Opera House in 1985 for Prince Charles. The documentary, produced by Sphere Media and co-produced by Two Rivers Media, will span nine years, beginning in 1981 when Allan first started teaching Diana.

The feature will delve into their bond, formed during hundreds of one-hour dance rehearsals, and offer insight into Diana’s personal life. It will also explore her journey with motherhood and the emotional toll of her troubled marriage to Prince Charles. The documentary promises to include never-before-seen archival material, such as photos, gifts, and personal notes from Diana, offering a more intimate portrayal of the Princess.

Allan, who describes her connection with Diana as special, expressed her excitement about the project, hoping the documentary provides a fresh perspective on Diana’s life and highlights how extraordinary she truly was. Sphere Media’s president, Marlo Miagza, also emphasized that the documentary will offer intimate insights into Diana, one of the most scrutinized figures in history.
