On Thursday, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled new updates for the company’s recently launched microblogging platform Threads. It contains features such as ‘Directly share a post to your Instagram DM’, a new mention button and custom alt-text for photos and videos.
“New updates to Threads this week: Directly share a post to your Instagram DMs, Custom alt-text for photo/video, New mention button to easily mention someone’s account in your Thread,” Zuckerberg posted on Threads app.
The Instagram team has been listening to feedback from users since the launch of Threads and has been working quickly to provide new features to enhance users’ experiences. To share threads in Instagram DMs, tap the share button and you’ll now see “Send on Instagram”.
Meta has also added support for rel=me links in Threads, which can be used to assist verify users’ identities on platforms such as Mastodon. People may now use your Threads profile link to authenticate their identity on supported platforms.
Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri recently revealed new Threads features. He officially presented the “Yours likes” option, which allows users to view their liked posts, as well as the ability to sort accounts that users follow.
“We’ve also rolled out Threads support for rel=me links to help you verify your identity on platforms like Mastodon. You can now add your Threads profile link on supported platforms to verify your identity,” Mosseri added.
