Here’s your chance to watch Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino again. With an ensemble cast that includes Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, and Ali Fazal, Netflix India announced in a blog post on Friday that the Anurag Basu movie will be accessible starting on August 29.
Netflix India just shared the poster of the film on its Instagram account and captionied it, “Ye metro platform pe aa chuki hai. Ab inki prem kahani, hui aapki (This metro has now reached the platform. Their love story is now yours)! Watch Metro… In Dino, out now on Netflix.”
The spiritual follow-up to Anurag Basu’s 2007 hit Life… In A Metro, the movie features music composed by Pritam. Anurag acknowledged in an interview that the late actor Irrfan Khan provided the inspiration for this follow-up. The only main character from the original cast to return for the next installment is Konkona Sen Sharma. Four new couples are explored in the sequel as they traverse the highs and lows of relationships and love in various locales. T-Series Films and Anurag Basu Productions produced the movie, which was well-reviewed by reviewers when it came out.
“The screenplay and story are by Basu, and there’s something magical that he brings to the big screen,” was an excerpt taken from the Hindustan Times review of the movie. One of the most inventive directors of our time, he has crammed a wide range of topics into a 162-minute picture, including identity crisis, loneliness, infidelity (which Pankaj Tripathi’s character comically pronounces as “infertility”), and grief.
